The KOSTYUKS support a national campaign "Keep the Flame Alive" urging Canadian government to recognize the 1932-33 Holodomor in Ukraine as an act of genocide. The International Holodomor Remembrance Flame arrived in Saskatoon on its trip visiting 33 countries to mark 75th anniversary of the Holodomor. Serhiy KOSTYUK presented an invited lecture on "Language Needs of Ukrainian Newcomers to Saskatchewan" during the Saskatchewan Teachers of Ukrainian Annual Conference at Ukrainian Bilingual School in Saskatoon. The lecture was based on his survey "Canada and Saskatchewan through Their Eyes". The UCIRC Inc. provided 15 free of charge copies of the report for participants.

Heritage Press, Olexandr MOSKALENKO Printing, and the Institute for Social Capital co-published an album "Far, Far Away: Postcards from Pre-Revolutionary Ukraine". The album was designed and published in Ukraine for the exhibit at St. Thomas More College to coincide with the 2007 Congress of the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences. ISC Executive Director Valentyna KOSTYUK supervised printing and shipping, and Serhiy KOSTYUK coordinated this joint Canadian-Ukrainian project.
